Please visit my gallery at http://cheekyangels.zenfolio.com/ I've always wanted to capture water droplets as I find the uniqueness of the shapes fascinating. Equipment: Nikon D5000 Tamron 90mm Macro lens Off camera Flash x 1 Wireless remote trigger x 3 Reflector x 1 Tripod (mini gorillapod) As I have never taken shots like this before, my set up for these shots has been really basic. I suspended a small plastic bag of water to the underneath of a ladder in my living room, below this I place a glass Pyrex bowl filled halfway with water. I then make a small hole in the bag of water with a safety pin, which allows droplets to fall into the glass bowl at a slow steady rate. I used a serrated edged knife to focus my lens 2cm above the point at which the droplet hits the water in the bowl. The ambient lighting came from my television and the overhead living room light which was dimmed down. I used a single flash, bounced off different sides of a 5-1 reflector, to change the colours. -In a few of the shots I use neon printer paper and holographic paper as backgrounds to bounce the flash against. I also experimented with the cameras WB to change the colour range. step by step pictorial http://www.instructables.com/id/Step-by-Step-guide-on-how-to-capture-Water-droplet/ Thank you lots for looking - really appreciate :)
