3D Printed Smart Tentacle with Flex Sensor-Based Analogous Control. Created by Peter Walters and David McGoran. Copyright (2011, 2012). This soft, tentacle-like structure is actuated by shape memory alloy artificial muscles. The tentacle structure is fabricated by 3D printing in soft elastomer material including internal channels which accommodate the artificial muscles. The active length of the tentacle is 55 mm.
