Our paper is funded exclusively by the donations of readers and supporters of the 99%. We are writing directly to you at this critical juncture, to ask you to continue to make this publication possible. Our all-volunteer staff of writers, editors, photographers, and cartoonists is committed to turning out newspaper pages that are never beholden to commercial interests. Instead, these pages bring you the kind of journalism rarely found in mainstream media -- stories of the Occupy movement, of social and economic inequality, and of activism that challenges injustice. Beginning now, we are offering subscriptions to the Boston Occupier for a base donation of $30. The subscription entitles you to a year's worth of issues mailed to your door, and will help ensure that our paper keeps printing. This is a unique opportunity to support citizen journalism and a much-needed voice in the public discourse. Our staff and editors work for no pay, and our expenditures are strategically kept low so that we can maximize the value of contributions, made either by subscription or general donation. Virtually all monies raised go toward the cost of printing (about 87%) and distribution (about 13%). In a year's time, we will publish a minimum of 12 issues. If you subscribe, these will be mailed out at a postage rate of $1.08 per issue. Each copy of the paper costs 5.5 cents to print. After these costs, your $30 subscription will fund the printing of almost three hundred additional copies of the paper. If you subscribe at $75, you will personally make possible more than a thousand copies of the newspaper. We want the Boston Occupier to reach as many people as possible, and with your help, we can go a long way toward this goal. We've mailed the Boston Occupier to readers in Occupy communities across the United States, to Europe and even Singapore! Now, we are counting on your support.
